Talks at PN enables various ideas to meet in order to have a high creative impact among the students, staff and alumni. Thus, as side-effects they become “PNspired, PNgaged & PNthusiastic” with their respective personal mission and ambition. This once-a-month learning activity started in January 2016. The first talk was about Web Development using Google tools and applications. It was conducted by Albert Padin, the first and only Google Developer Expert in the Philippines and the co-founder of Sym, an IT company which caters clients all across the globe.

Albert Padin honored us with his brilliant stage presence and his practical application of knowledge. He was very professional and delivered his talk in a very simple way, using and relating his personal stories and experiences to make everything easily digestible, even to a 9th grader.
The second talk focused on cybersecurity. Vijay Sekar, Cyber Security Manager of e-Business BPO in Cebu, shared valuable information on best practices regarding cybersecurity, and on how to gain expertise in this field.
The venue was jam-packed and all attendees were excited to take their turns in asking questions, but due to time constraints, many were still left unasked and unanswered. To provide an opportunity for everybody to throw in their questions, Passerelles numériques Philippines launched an email trail where everybody can ask cybersecurity and hacking related questions to Mr. Sekar.
Overall, Talks at PN is a fantastic meeting in the spreading of various ideas. These events are great experiences for the students, the staff, and PN Philippines alumni as they give deeper knowledge not just about the Internet but also about life skills.
